Passionate followers of the pop star are calling for that a individual who leaped a barrier and seized the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.

A viral video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram profile features recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Well-being

Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more comment on Instagram.

A number of supporters also questioned security officers at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.

The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a spin-off of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of last year in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, securing several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
