Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, but many fans holding him in high esteem would welcome the possibility that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he shared with the podcast host: “I stated I will never coach another team on English soil. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I might decide down the line, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to management, he confessed he isn't eager toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be under bad weather through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats a week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the players having a nice chat, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games meaning regularly a very good mood in the building. I still have Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the tweaks that took the title in the previous season. They've been defeated a string of losses in all competitions following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. This is a well-built well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect for the team. The forward was killed in a road accident with his brother in July.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It’s not about the player himself, it's his character. It's hard to picture the dressing room missing him. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it to justify results yet it's the reality. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is difficult. Unbearable.”
