Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
