It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
