UK Culture Secretary to Hold Talks on Israeli Football Club Supporters Prohibition
A police and crime commissioner from the central England region has requested an immediate review of the ruling to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from attending the upcoming game.
The commissioner, who oversees the force, explains that this request aims to verify whether the ban is appropriate, essential, justified, reasonable, and a proportionate measure to accomplish a lawful objective.
"That must include consideration of all and any appropriate, alternative options," Foster emphasizes.
He has also requested to examine the official ruling and suggestion from the safety committee, as well as the law enforcement evaluation.
He underscores, however, that the ultimate ruling belongs to the committee and the police.
